When families are facing the realities of a life-limiting illness, hospice care helps people recognize that life is to be cherished and celebrated in every moment.
Kline Galland’s interdisciplinary team of compassionate professionals honor life and its transition into death by providing emotional, social and spiritual support to both the patient and family. Hospice care is intended to maximize the quality of life by providing symptom management and pain control. This may include medications prescribed by a doctor, the companionship of a volunteer sitting bedside, or a gentle massage by a trained specialist.
Hospice seeks to make this transition a time of comfort, relief, and release. Hospice services also include bereavement counseling and grief support for family members. After Hours Nurse On-Call 24 Hours A Day, 7 Days A Week. For more information, or to initiate care, give us a call at (206) 805-1930.
When is Hospice Care Appropriate?
Hospice care is recommended when a patient is entering his or her final phase of life (generally within six months of passing) and is seeking a comfortable and meaningful transition. If the prognosis is longer than six months, our Palliative Care program can help individuals cope with their chronic disease and in making informed decisions about treatment options.
We Honor Veterans
Kline Galland is a proud partner of We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This wonderful program focuses on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement, and recognizes the unique needs of American’s Veterans and their families.
End-of-Life Services and Death With Dignity
Kline Galland Hospice recognizes that individuals have choices about their end-of-life decisions and supports patients’ autonomy in this regard. You can learn more about our End-of-Life Services by reviewing our End-of-Life Services Policy.
