We are excited and honored to welcome Congresswoman Kim Schrier of Washington’s 8th Congressional District to the next edition of our Distinguished Speaker Series. During the discussion, Congresswoman Schrier will provide an update on the state of senior healthcare. Prior to being elected to Congress in 2018, Congresswoman Schrier spent her career as a pediatrician in Issaquah, working with families across the Puget Sound region to navigate the health care system. She now holds the distinction of being the first pediatrician in Congress, and regularly uses this expertise to inform her work as she improves the lives and health of Washingtonians.
Congresswoman Schrier’s unique training and lived experiences have guided her work and policy as an advocate for Washington state residents. She currently serves on the House Agriculture Committee and the Energy & Commerce Committee’s Health Subcommittee and is the co-chair of the New Democrat Coalition Health Care Task Force and is part of the Diabetes Caucus.
