Memory Support, a new and specialized community located on the entire second floor, is part of our acclaimed Assisted Living program. Support and care is from skilled professionals who help residents make the connections they need to manage their world by focusing on their best abilities. The Summit’s approach to Memory Support focuses on what residents can do (their choices and quality of life) – not on what they can’t. Between caregivers and activity experts, staff is with residents throughout the day. Evidence-based practices remove obstacles, minimize challenges, reduce frustrations and relieve anxiety – all designed to make life simpler, more enjoyable, more rewarding.

Programming is essential and integral with an ongoing and robust array of activities designed to stimulate brain function and provide residents with a sense of self-worth and accomplishment including:

• Art, music and massage therapy
• Collaborations with the Frye Art Museum and Seattle Theatre Group
• “Time Slips”™ storytelling
• Individualized iPod music programs
• Horticultural Therapy
• Live musical performances
• “SingFit”™ that combines movement, song and reminiscence
• Weekly challah baking
• Cooking and arts & crafts groups
• Shabbat and holiday services and celebrations
• Exercise classes and walking club
• Supervised weekly outings

Dining choices are abundant with plated visual cues presented to allow residents to choose easily. Three meals a day plus snacks in between – food is an important part of life at The Summit.

The Summit’s Chai Club Memory Support Community consists of 24 apartments (studio and one-bedrooms) – all with private bathrooms, walk-in showers and kitchenettes. Residents are able to spend quiet time in their private apartments when needed, but are encouraged to spend most of their waking hours engaged in purposeful activity.

Exceptional care by exceptional people … every day, in every way.

The community asked for specialized Assisted Living Memory Support within a Jewish setting – now you have it.
