Staff Spotlight: Kline Galland’s Rehabilitation/Transitional Care Team
February 25, 2022 | Health & Wellness, Kline Galland Staff
As home to the largest rehabilitation center in Washington state, Kline Galland is exceedingly proud of its talented team of in-house therapists and therapeutic professionals. This group of highly skilled experts continues to deliver personalized, compassionate care to our residents and patients on a daily basis, regardless of whatever obstacles they are presented with.
This month our Director of Rehabilitation Services, Watson Louie, stopped by to answer some questions and shine a light on the amazing work being done by our Rehabilitation/Transitional Care team:
What kind of rehabilitation/therapy services does Kline Galland offer?
Thanks to the support of our amazing community of employees, volunteers, and donors, Kline Galland is able to offer a wide variety of inpatient/outpatient programs to help our clients function at their best, including:
- Physical Therapy: Designed to help patients improve function, mobility and independence
- Occupational Therapy: Focused on helping restore the ability to perform daily activities such as eating, cooking, dressing and bathing
- Speech-Language Therapy: Helps people who have difficulty with verbal communication, chewing or swallowing
- Medical Nutrition Therapy: Can be prescribed under the care of a Registered Dietitian to support recovery from illness or surgery
Does Kline Galland customize these services for each client?
We can tailor a number of our offerings to an individual’s specific needs. In terms of occupational therapy, this includes custom wheelchair fitting, activities of daily living assessment, upper extremity assessment, work simplification/energy conservation training, and additional speech and language pathology services like cognitive assessment and treatment, and swallow assessment and treatment. In regard to physical therapy, our customizable offerings cover mobility assessment, balance testing and strength/endurance testing, gait analysis, and vestibular training.
What sets Kline Galland’s Rehabilitation/Transitional Care program apart?
Kline Galland is proud to be home to the largest inpatient rehabilitation unit in the state of Washington, with four separate gyms and a wide variety of state-of-the-art equipment. This extra space combined with our excellent staff-to-patient ratio means that we are often able to help our clients in private settings. Kline Galland is also honored to employ an incredibly talented and diverse team of rehabilitation professionals that is hired in-house, rather than from a therapy registry/agency.

So, for that I’d like to say thank you, for everything you do. Your hard work and efforts don’t go unnoticed.
