Supporting Patients Like Matthew
September 16, 2022 | Giving at Kline Galland, Kline Galland Home
About five years ago, one of our residents, Matthew, came to Kline Galland after a devastating stroke. When Matthew first arrived, he was “locked in” and could not speak, walk, or use his hands. The doctors told his family that he only had a 1-3% chance of recovery.
We are so happy to report that Matthew has made an extraordinary amount of progress since then. Today, he confidently uses his wheelchair to zip through the halls of Kline Galland Home and visit friends. Last year he spoke his first words in nearly four years. Our whole staff was in tears.
Recently, Matthew shared another message with us: “I love the Kline.”
The team at Kline Galland holds onto moments like this. We believe that the devotion we show for our patients is felt and appreciated and we take extreme pride in our ability to care for our community with heart, love, and the upmost of care. We are also continually inspired by patients like Matthew with indomitable spirit, effort, and positive attitude.
However, we cannot do this alone. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) social service organization, we rely on the generosity of donors to help support our staff, services, and facilities to be able to provide top-quality care for patients like Matthew.
