What you need to know about Donor Advised Funds
July 30, 2021 | General, Giving at Kline Galland
There is an old proverb that states: “it takes a village to raise a child.” At Kline Galland, we believe this sentiment doesn’t stop at childhood – it takes a village to continue caring for our loved ones throughout their lives.
The work we do at Kline Galland wouldn’t be possible without our village. Last year, charitable gifts from our community helped underwrite more than $3.6 million in uncompensated care for our residents and patients. The impact of these donations is immeasurable, and it helped us navigate the COVID-19 pandemic as safely as possible. We cannot express how thankful we are for this support.
If you are looking for way to donate to Kline Galland today and into the future, a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) may serve as a simple and smart decision for you or your loved ones. A DAF is easy to establish, and we are happy to make recommendations of those financial institutions that might be in a position to help you create your personal DAF. If you already have a personal DAF would like to add Kline Galland as a beneficiary, you can use this handy widget to get started:

Here’s how it works:
- Contribute: An initial, irrevocable gift of cash or stock funds a DAF. Because DAFs are public charities, your contributions to your DAF are considered a tax-deductible charitable contributions. There may be additional tax benefits as well, including an estate tax deduction.
- Invest: Your gift grows tax-free. Without additional action, your fund can create even more philanthropic capital.
- Give: Through your DAF, you may choose to make gifts during your lifetime, or after you pass, your children may carry on your legacy of giving.
Your donations help us deliver world-class care in a nurturing and safe environment. We know the way in which you give is an important decision, so we encourage you to reach out to us for more information on whether a DAF is right for you and your loved ones.
