Notice: Construction work in the Memory Garden and Installation Project in the Hospice Focused Unit

Please be informed that construction work will take place in our Memory Garden from March 2026 through June 2026. Crews will remove dirt, concrete, and foliage to clear space for students from the University of Washington’s Department of Landscape Architecture to design and build our updated garden. There will be no access to the garden for residents, families, or staff during the construction. We look forward to enjoying a beautifully renovated garden this summer.

Please also be aware that wall protectors will be installed in our Hospice Focused Unit from March 30 through April 30, 2026.

An Important Message Regarding our CMS Rating

Kline Galland would like to provide an important explanation regarding a recent change to our ‘Staffing Star Rating’ through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

CMS requires Kline Galland to report our staffing hours quarterly. Due to our organization’s long-standing commitment to high staffing levels and quality care, we have consistently maintained a 5-star staffing rating under this system.

During the fourth quarter of 2025, an administrative error occurred during the post-submission verification process. This resulted in an inaccurate recording of our staffing outcome for that quarter, which incorrectly lowered our Staffing Star Rating with CMS from 5 stars to 1 star.

This 1-star rating does not indicate an actual decline in staffing or quality of care, but rather reflects a clerical verification issue within the recording system.

Kline Galland is working closely with CMS to resolve this error. We anticipate the rating to be corrected within the next five quarters.

We would like to assure you that Kline Galland continues to maintain strong staffing ratios and remains committed to providing the same high-quality, personalized care we have provided residents and patients for over a century.
