Volunteers are at the heart of our Kline Galland community. For over a century, Kline Galland has been devoted to providing exceptional care, and our volunteers have brought the gift of compassionate support and enhanced quality of many lives.
Last year, our Kline Galland Volunteers gave over 8,500 hours of direct support to our residents, patients, families and teams. We partner with multiple community groups and schools to bring Intergenerational events, such as; arts, landscaping, music, dance, and meaningful interactions with our residents.
When you volunteer with us, you are an integral and valued part of a skilled and caring team, who are dedicated to a truly meaningful cause. Each individual volunteer makes a great difference.
Volunteering at Kline Galland is an extremely rewarding experience. You can share your interests, experiences, and hobbies through a wide variety of volunteer opportunities:
- Offer companionship by being a friendly visitor.
- Showcase your talents and passion in music, storytelling, or multimedia.
- Be a helping hand or lead in a variety of life enrichment activities (ie; Bingo, Board/Card games, Arts and Crafts, etc.) at Kline Galland Home and/or Mary Schwartz Summit.
- Take part in offering pet visits or instrumental music, which is sure to brighten everyone’s day.
- Support patients and families through their end-of-life journey with our Hospice Team.
- Engage in one-to-one life review conversation or legacy work.
Join our Team!
We currently have open volunteer positions in our Kline Galland Home facility, Mary Schwartz Summit facility and Kline Galland Hospice team, which service patients in the Seattle/King County area. (Facility volunteers have a 40 hour minimum time commitment over the course of 3-6 months. Hospice volunteers have a one year time commitment and completion of a 25-35 hours Hospice Volunteer Orientation Training, dependent on the role.)

Applications and inquiries accepted anytime! Trainings for our location in Seward Park is occurring every other month. There will be a pause in onboarding facility volunteers 12/15/2025-1/5/2026.
For those interested in joining our Mary Schwartz Summit Facility Volunteer Team, please know:
Applications and inquiries accepted anytime! There is a pause in onboarding Summit facility volunteers until Spring 2026.
