Kline Galland welcomes new Director of Volunteer Services, Jemilla Goldstein
July 13, 2023 | General, Kline Galland Staff, Resources, Volunteer
At Kline Galland, our volunteers are integral to the team care offered to residents, patients and their families. Whether serving as a community volunteer at one of our facilities, or as a trained hospice volunteer, our volunteers’ gifts of time, companionship and support are invaluable.
Joining our Kline Galland team this year, we are pleased to introduce Jemilla Goldstein as our new Director of Volunteer Services. Jemilla brings 12 years of hospice and palliative care experience to this position, and has been an active volunteer in the King County area for more than 20 years. She is a deep believer of volunteerism as an incredible gift of service.
“I believe that showing up to serve others in need, and engaging in the spirit of volunteerism, cultivates a culture of kindness and goodwill,” said Jemilla. “The sincere efforts of every volunteer has the potential of making a great impact: through offering support, compassionate presence and active listening, there can arise meaningful moments of comfort and joy. Our lives are fuller through connection, and we grow and learn by being present to one another. There is beauty in this experience of being human, as there is beauty in being of service to humanity.”
As Kline Galland has grown over the past century, so has our volunteer services program. Today, our volunteers make an impact across the organization, including in our skilled nursing, independent living, assisted living, and hospice services. From offering companionship, playing music, reading, art/craft activity, pet visits, to quiet presence by the bedside, our community is happy to help, and we are continually humbled by the way our volunteers show up to support our mission, which orients us towards service “every day, in every way, for every one”.
Said Jemilla, “I am grateful and inspired to witness the engaging support of our amazing volunteers (alongside our talented staff), which reflect Kline Galland’s mission and commitment to our diverse community. I look forward to the continued revivification of our volunteer services, to growing our Kline Galland team, and expanding our impact throughout the organization to better meet the needs of our wonderful residents and patients.”
Join us in warmly welcoming Jemilla to the Kline Galland team!
