How you can help Kline Galland bridge the gap
November 23, 2021 | Giving at Kline Galland, Kline Galland Staff
At Kline Galland, we pride ourselves on being able to offer the highest standard of care possible. We call this our “Margin of Excellence” – it is a guarantee that every resident at Kline Galland is provided exceptional care and treated as if they were a member of our own family.
Every day, Kline Galland spends $409 per resident to deliver this guarantee and provide the highest possible standard of care. As a registered private, non-profit 501(c)(3) social service organization, part of this service is compensated through Medicaid. However, Medicaid only covers 78% of what it costs to deliver Kline Galland’s standard of care, leaving a funding gap of $87 per day for each resident.
Some examples of things that are not covered by Medicaid are: our above-standard staffing levels, our comprehensive training programs, our commitment to providing Kosher food, our robust life enrichment programs, and our religious services.
Every year, $3 million is needed to bridge the gap between what it costs to provide the highest quality programs and services and what Kline Galland receives through Medicaid. Fortunately, Kline Galland is committed to achieving our “Margin of Excellence.” Unfortunately, health care reimbursements are expected to continue declining each year as care becomes more costly for a senior population projected to grow dramatically over the next 15 years.
Kline Galland is funded by and made possible because of our donors. Simply put, our organization cannot succeed without your generosity. To accomplish this goal of bridging the funding gap, we look to our community to help with the practice of gemilut chasadim (acts of loving-kindness). Each and every dollar we are able to raise will go directly to benefit the care of our residents – your families, neighbors, loved ones.
